Yes, you read the title correctly. Microsoft’s own web news site, MSN, has predicted that Apple will be the world leader in technology. The MSN reporter, Jon Markman, goes on to say that Apple may “emerge later this year as the single most influential, life-changing and powerful company in the technology and consumer electronics universe.” WOW! That’s strong language. You can read the entire article here.

Markman goes on to predict that in the next 30 days Apple will unveil some new and wonderful technology.

MSN’s recommendation? Buy Apple stock. It’s expected to double in value by 2010.

I wonder how much Apple stock Bill Gates will be buying. And, I wonder if Jon Markman will still have a job, tomorrow.

The iPod is already one of the greatest successes. Not only for Apple, but for millions of people who bought it. iPod + iTunes redefined the way we listen to music, we think about music.

The iPhone? Well… it most certainly is the most advanced mobile device under the sun, no doubt about it. It is kind of telling all the mobile phone manufacturers ‘hey look at me! That’s how it’s done!’. I believe the iPhone does for the communication market as what the iPod did with music. Every once in a while these inventions come around. Inventions that truly change the way of what we think about things.

It certainly looks like Apple are transitioning to a consumer electronics company hence the recent dropping of the world ‘computer’ from their title.

Frankly, I am hoping that Apple’s new version of OS X (10.5) will include the ability to run Microsoft Window’s applications from within OS X, much like you can do today with Parallel’s product.

It may be wishful thinking on my part, but if Apple was to buy Parallels (http://www.parallels.com/) and include it as part of the OS, that would really be exciting as it would certainly shake up the computer industry.

The other highly anticipated product announcement is a larger screen iPod — one that’s touch-screen, like the Newton was… remember the Newton?
