Vintage Windows 386 Marketing Video January 15, 2007

Posted by Matsu in Fun, Humor, Information Technology, Microsoft, Software, Technology, Windows/Microsoft.

If you did not see this on Boing Boing this past weekend, and you are old enough to remember there was software before Windows 95, then you might find this video advertisement amusing. It is done like a Mission Impossible episode. Only, it gets really strange (cheesy) at around the 7 minute mark.

According to the video information, “Microsoft sent this tape to retailers to explain the benefits of Windows 386. Boring until the 7 minute mark when the production is taken over by crack-smoking monkeys.”

If you have trouble watching the embedded video, you can find the orginal file at Google video here.

Oh my!

I was watching it and identifying all the places that MS stole concepts from OS/2 and Motif when they actually came out and said it!
