The famous and popular music group, Barenaked Ladies, has made available over the Internet one of the new songs that will be on a yet-to-be-released album. What's even more interesting, they make it available on four tracks so that their fans can mix it, themselves. Oddly, they use a MySpace.com account to advertise the band and distribute this new song.

According to their blog site, they plan to do this again in the future. Go here to listen to it yourself. Or, you can mix your own copy.

It's not quite the same as 'open source music' but it's a step in that direction.
